Publications
The Vermont Music Educator is the official publication of the Vermont Music Educators Association. Its purpose is to disseminate information of value to music educators throughout Vermont. The Vermont Music Educator is published quarterly, in September, December, March, and June. It is sent to all VMEA members as a benefit of membership. (Please note: The publication will be sent to the address this is on file with MENC, so be sure to keep that address updated.) Non-members may subscribe to the publication at a cost of $20 per year.

Publication of The Vermont Music Educator is made possible through the support of advertisers. Current advertisers include several educational institutions and a variety of businesses involved in the music industry.

Submitting Items for Publication
Submissions of teaching tips, lesson plans, stories, and scholarly articles are welcomed for consideration. Content should enlighten, educate, or entertain readers by offering useful, thought-provoking ideas related to music and teaching. While a list of possible topics would be exhaustive, a few ideas include: standards and assessment, classroom management, music literature, and reflections on teaching practice. VMEA assumes no responsibility for the individual opinions expressed in articles. Please note that submissions may be edited for grammar, clarity, and length. Electronic submission of articles, photos, and advertisements is strongly encouraged. The e-mail address to use appears near the bottom of this page. Please limit the size of attachments to 2MB or less (or else contact the editor in advance).
News briefs, teaching tips, and short articles without attachments can be sent to the editor using the online submission form below.
Deadlines
Deadlines for text and advertisements are:
- July 15 for the September issue
- October 15 for the December issue
- January 15 for the March issue
- April 15 for the June issue

An archive of past issues is available online. Please note: These are large files -- several megabytes each -- and will take a significant amount of time to open or download if you have a slow internet connection. ()
