RECOGNITION
Dear District Presidents and others interested
in Music Education in Vermont,
The Executive Board of the Vermont Music Educators
Association has established a VERMONT MUSIC EDUCATOR HALL OF FAME
and encourages each district to use the forms available here to
nominate candidates for each of the categories each year.
Consideration of Music Educators at all levels and
all areas of specialization (elementary, middle & high school and
vocal, instrumental & general, etc.) is encouraged and Districts
are encouraged to celebrate music education locally through the
selection of Music Educators for recognition in these Hall of Fame
categories within the district, and by publizing each district's
nominees whenever possible.
Please send the nominations from your
district to
Steffen Parker, District Divisions Coordinator by December 14, 2003.
You may either:
1) Fill out the appropriate form (either the
one given to you or the one downloaded from this website) and send it
to Steffen via mail with the supportive documentation , if
any
OR
2) Enter the information as requested by the
form into an enote and email to Steffen at sparker@vpaonline.org
. You can send or have others send the supportive documentation in
the same manner.
Nominations are accepted in these
categories
for outstanding professionalism and contributions
to music education and children
Each district may nominate one music educator each
year in this category
for impacting music education and children
within the first five years of service
Each district may nominate one music educator each
year in this category with the district detemining the length of
service
recognizing music educators for twenty five
years or more of service to music education and
children
Each district may nominate all who qualify for
this category
recognizing music educators, organizations,
individuals, living or deceased, employed or retired, who have made
significant contributions to Music Education in Vermont in the
present or the past
Each district may nominate as many as they wish
with the VMEA Executive Board determine not more than two individuals
to receive this award each year
