Vermont All State Music Festival | Offering Musicians from Vermont's High Schools the Opportunity to Perform

String instruments will be asked to perform one Major scale, one Melodic Minor scale and an Arpeggio based on one of the two keys selected by the adjudicators forthe other scales, all from memory. The minimum metronome setting for all of these on Violins, Violas and Cellos will be quarter note = 88. The minimum metronome settings for String Basses will be quarter note = 60.

The two scales will be selected from the listing below, performed for the number of octaves indicated, with these bowings as illustrated:

The arpeggio will be performed with these bowings, in the same key as one of the selected scales as illustrated:
